TO GET A BUMBO!!! or richard says "to not get the bumbo"

rich can this change your mind.

these are so stinkin funny. i really would love to get a bumbo for a few minutes of free time. and also the reviews that i have read are all really good reviews. the only con i read is the price. so my plan is to cut a lot of hair ( i only charge ten bucks people come see me) and save up and buy it. we will see. it is supposed to strengthen their neck and back muscles. it is proven to help with posture too.

I've heard only good things about them. My office got the last prego lady one and her little girl uses it all the time. see if you can find a used one. I know they're around $40, so, if you can find one for half, why not?

Sorry Katie - I might agree with Richard on this one....

I just used the boppy to help Max sit up when it seemed like he was ready to try sitting and it worked great. Why have the extra expense when you already have the boppy, y'know? Then you could spend the $40 on some other fun thing. Plus, I just barely saw this article on msn.com about a huge recall on them. Here's the link:

The videos sure are cute, though...

Oh and...I love my boppy as well but Jonas doesn't love it anymore... he wants to be sitting! No reclining. Its fabulous he sits in it when I do my hair and I put him in it to watch Ellie play... its great!

Ok Sorry-One more thing... Only to help you in your case Katie, because I'm sure Rich will try to use the recall on the Bumbo as a strong point in his argument. I read up on the recall. Its silly. All the makers of Bumbo are doing is sending out a new warning label that tells parents in a nice way, not to be stupid and leave your baby in the bumbo on top of a table or counter and walk away! I copied this from one of the articles I read. "Hazard: If the seat is placed on a table, countertop, chair, or other elevated surface, young children can arch their backs, flip out of the Bumbo seat, and fall onto the floor, posing a risk of serious head injuries."
Lets not be silly parents! Who would allow that? Lets not let some parents negligence stop us from using, what I believe to be the best baby seat ever!

Wow...pretty charged argument. I read up on the bumbo recall thing...yeah, pretty dumb to put that on a counter or table. Common sense, anyone?

But, seriously, get one if you want - they seem pretty nice. But I'm telling you, I used the boppy to help him sit up, not just to recline. It just supported his bum and lower back. So, he was sitting up - and he didn't need the help for long. Between the boppy, papasan, and swing, he had plenty of seating options.

Who knows, maybe I was missing out and should've got a bumbo if it's as great as everyone says. It just seems kind of unnecessary - but that's just my opinion. But, if you can get it for cheaper, totally go for it. $40 just seems a little much for that little seat...

Heather? I hope I didn't offend you! Its been an on going thing with Richard so I had to be a brat and argue in Katies favor... ha ha.

To Morgan: No worries! Thanks for the clarification, though!
